ECO-808 / SOURCE CONTROLLED
System 8 public authority ecosystem plan
The ecosystem turns narrow operational problems into inspectable consultancy evidence: a reader recognises a situation, understands the reasoning, inspects the controlled solution and can start a scoped conversation.
Outcome and audience
Primary audience: Perth-based and global operators, organisations and delivery partners responsible for Microsoft 365 or business systems that are undocumented, fragile or cross vendor boundaries. Secondary audience: consulting and delivery partners who need one credible link to inspect System 8 consultancy evidence.
The promise is practical: recover what exists, make authority and evidence explicit, compare viable options, then deliver the smallest controlled next step.
Four surfaces, four jobs
| SURFACE | JOB | PRIMARY ACTION |
|---|---|---|
| Profile | Canonical identity, capability and selected evidence | Choose a relevant proof |
| Blog | Niche situation, diagnosis and solution narrative | Recognise “this is my problem” |
| Docs | Runbook, ADR, checklist, test pack and controlled limits | Inspect how the work is done |
| Live | Interactive proof or diagnostic surface | Try or observe the method |
Reader journey
- Arrive through a specific symptom. Search and shared links land on a long-form situation page describing the specific symptom.
- Confirm fit quickly. The opening states the environment, symptom, consequence and boundary.
- Follow the evidence. Every article links to a controlled runbook or specification.
- Inspect limitations. Composite situations are labelled; unverified client claims are not implied.
- Start a scoped conversation. Contact language carries the situation title into a bounded evidence or recovery sprint.
Problem-led content pillars
- Recover: legacy SharePoint, certificates, identities, gateways and undocumented integrations.
- Govern: Microsoft 365 ownership, information boundaries, lifecycle and evidence.
- Integrate: Graph, APIs, middleware, shared mailboxes and cross-system state.
- Automate: Power Automate, agent workflows, authority, idempotency and verification.
- Prove: Power Pages/Dataverse fit, security tests, architecture decisions and delivery gates.
Audio and creative work remains valid adjacent evidence but stays out of the primary IT consultancy path.
Long-form article contract
Every primary article is approximately 1,100–2,000 words and must contain: a narrow situation; operational consequence; evidence to collect; root-cause reasoning; safe repair sequence; negative and positive verification; constraints; prevention; and a reciprocal controlled document. It must distinguish composite analysis from a named client case study.
Every supporting document identifies its owner, review cadence, acceptance evidence, tested scope and untested remainder. Generic AI copy, unsupported metrics and platform-first conclusions are rejected.
Twelve-week publishing plan
| WEEK | PRIMARY NOTE | SUPPORTING ASSET |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Orphaned Power Automate owner | Recovery runbook |
| 2 | Legacy SharePoint TLS/identity failure | Farm recovery matrix |
| 3 | Teams guest / SharePoint denied | Guest diagnostic |
| 4 | Power Pages record isolation | Negative-first test pack |
| 5 | Shared mailbox duplicate processing | Idempotency pattern |
| 6 | Purview label versus retention conflict | Control decision table |
| 7 | Graph app with excessive permission | Permission review runbook |
| 8 | On-premises gateway single point of failure | Gateway continuity checklist |
| 9 | Dataverse environment drift | ALM evidence pack |
| 10 | SharePoint search misses migrated records | Search acceptance matrix |
| 11 | Meeting summary discloses restricted content | Derivative-data control |
| 12 | Fixed-price estimate before discovery | Pricing-readiness gate |
Implementation status and time budget
The initial twelve-week corpus is published: twelve long-form situation/solution notes and twelve reciprocal controlled assets. Each pair completed a full evidence cycle covering source research and claim mapping; long-form drafting; runbook or test-pack construction; reciprocal links and structured data; and accessibility, link, responsive and Netlify release review.
The ecosystem is now in sustainment. Monthly review covers source currency, external-link health, search and referral signals, control revisions and superseded claims. A verified field situation enters the queue when it adds a distinct decision, test or control. Publication volume is not an acceptance criterion.
Measures and governance
- Coverage: one primary note and one controlled asset per week during the initial build-out; sustainable floor of two technical updates and one case study per month.
- Integrity: zero broken reciprocal links; every material technical claim has a source or is explicitly framed as a method/hypothesis.
- Usefulness: visits from niche problem queries, article-to-doc continuation and qualified contact starts.
- Maintenance: monthly link/schema/content review; quarterly claim expiry and content retirement.
- Conversion: the reader can identify the relevant situation and send it without describing System 8 from scratch.
Ecosystem backlog
- Add a situation finder across Blog and Docs using the five problem-led pillars.
- Create a reusable case-study template with problem, evidence, intervention, metric, owner role and consent.
- Turn suitable runbooks into interactive diagnostics on Live.
- Add a plain-language Help surface for joining, evidence handling, engagements and privacy.
- Automate monthly profile drift, link health, schema validation and stale review dates.
- Publish a quarterly downloadable capability/CV projection from the canonical evidence set.
